This case study showcases the successful collaboration between BK Creative and the Belize Elite Basketball League (BEBL). We aim to highlight the remarkable redesign of their website. SEA Belize – Southern Environmental Association approached us to design their website, we recognized the importance of having a platform that could effectively showcase their work and engage with their target audience. WordPress emerged as the ideal choice due to its user-friendly interface, flexibility, and robust features. By leveraging the power of WordPress, we were able to develop a visually appealing and highly functional website that not only captures the essence of the organization but also enables them to easily update and maintain content, ensuring that the public receives up-to-date and accurate information. 

Objective:

The primary objective of the SEA Belize website design was to spread awareness and inform the public about the areas that SEA Belize keeps protected.

  1. Discovery phase: We conducted research: This involved gathering information about the SEA Belize’s goals, target audience, content requirements, and competitors.
  2. Design phase: We created a visually appealing and user-friendly interface: The design aligned with the SEA’s branding, while also incorporating elements that evoked a sense of marine conservation and protection. We made sure to use colors, imagery, and typography that reflect the marine environment.

Objective:

The Chocolate Festival of Belize aimed to enhance its online presence and implement an efficient system for selling event tickets online.

Challenge:

The festival required a user-friendly, responsive website that could effectively manage ticket sales and provide information about the festival, accommodating the diverse needs of potential visitors.

Solution:

  • Responsive Website Design 
    We developed the website using WordPress. It is a popular content management system known for its versatility and ease of use. This choice ensured the website was responsive and accessible on various devices. Our data shows that most users prefer mobile. 
  • E-commerce Integration
    For ticket sales, we incorporated WooCommerce. It is a robust e-commerce platform.  We combined this with various plugins to create a seamless and secure ticket-purchasing experience for users.
  • User Experience Focus
    Next, we focused on the user interface. It needed to be intuitive, inviting, and reflect the festival’s vibrant cultural essence. Our team worked to create something elegant but simplistic.

Overview:

The president of the Battle of the Drums Secretariat along with other interested parties approached us to redesign their outdated website with the goal of improving its aesthetics, and functionality, and creating an online store. The business is a non-profit whose objective is the retrieval and preservation of the Garifuna Culture

 

Objective:

To create a new WordPress website that embodies the Garifuna Culture, is responsive,  fast, and provides a user-friendly experience for donations to non-profit causes. Create an online store where merch can be bought so that patrons can proudly wear their support.

  1. Discovery Phase: We conducted a benchmark report to highlight design trends and concepts.  We also reviewed their existing website to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
  2. Design Phase: Based on the information gathered in the discovery phase, we created a wireframe and mockup design for the new website. We incorporated the Garifuna colors, and imagery to ensure consistency and cohesion throughout the site.
  3. Development Phase: We developed the WordPress website using a custom theme and plugins that provide an online store and donation functionality. We also optimized the site for search engine optimization (SEO) to improve its visibility on search engines.
  4. Testing Phase: We tested the website to ensure all features and functionality worked as intended. We also conducted usability testing with a small group of users to get feedback on the site’s user experience.
  5. Launch Phase: We launched the website.

Results:

The new WordPress website achieved the following results:

  • Improved aesthetics and functionality
  • Increased online orders and event inquiries
  • Improved search engine visibility

Conclusion:

Redesigning the Battle of the Drum’s website with WordPress was a success. The new site improved the non-profit’s online presence and provided a user-friendly experience for users to order online and learn more about the non-profit and the Garifuna culture. By using a custom theme and plugins, we were able to meet the non-profit’s unique needs and requirements. The new website helped the Battle of the Drums achieve its goals and grow its online presence.
